Mama’s Milk: Not Just for Newborns is a breastfeeding art print featuring my original pen drawing of a mother breastfeeding her baby, captured in a quiet, strong moment of closeness.
A celebration of matrescence, tenderness and maternal strength, this motherhood wall art honours the intimacy of the early postpartum days while also acknowledging extended breastfeeding beyond infancy.
Normalising breastfeeding is deeply important to me. With this print, I wanted to reflect the reality and importance of feeding at different stages, not just in the early newborn weeks. Breastfeeding does not stop being natural or worthy of representation simply because a baby grows older. This piece is a beautiful statement of that belief.
The drawing began as one of my late-night sketches during the first year of motherhood. In the exhaustion and uncertainty, I wanted to focus on the connection, the softness and the strength that exists within those ordinary, unseen moments.
The side profile composition reflects stillness and trust between mother and child. It recognises breastfeeding not as something staged or idealised, but as something deeply human.
Personally printed by me in my Galway home, each print is carefully prepared and finished by hand. This breastfeeding wall art is designed for family homes and makes a meaningful gift for new mothers, postpartum support or anyone who values honest representations of motherhood and breastfeeding.
